We are an award-winning specialist cheddar cheese company based in the World Heritage site of Blaenafon, South Wales. Situated in the main High Street we produce everything from our premises:

All our cheeses are handmade by our family and are free from any artificial preservatives or colourings. They are all suitable for Vegetarians and are coloured in a bright wax coating to give a long natural shelf life of 6 months if they are stored correctly between 0 to +5 *C.
Our famous 1868 cheddar is aged below ground at the bottom of the cellars at The Lion Hotel, Home of the Chartist Riots in 1861. Once every 2 weeks Gerry does a cheese swap. He takes the cheeses to the Lion Hotel, ready for maturing. The Lion Hotel is a lovely place to stay and to enjoy some of the finest meals.
We produce very distinctive cheddars, many are flavoured with local alcohols which act as our natural preservatives and include; Celtic Spirit whisky, Black Mountain Liqueur, Brains Dark, SA and Reverend James ale, and Taffy Apple cider. In 2022 we won the gold medal and trophy at the International Cheese Awards for The Best Export Travel Trade Pack, with our Mini Gift Packs.
All our cheddars feature scenes of Blaenafon’s industrial heritage on their labels.
Also, in the product range are gift packs, four hamper choices and Four Cheesy Tipple choices which consist of a cheddar and their matching bottle of real ale or cider in a gift pack.

There may be some days when we are closed due to outside event, deliveries or family events.
Cheeses can also be purchased from 6 Welsh Morrisons stores (Abergavenny, Cwmbran, Brecon, Haverfordwest, Carmarthen and Ty Glas Cardiff), Cashells Butchers in Crickhowell, The Raglan Farm Shop in Raglan, and The Welsh Venison Centre.

Talks, Presentations, and Coach Groups
We are available to give talks & cheese tastings to groups, WI or town’s women’s guilds. Talk is 45 minutes then a tasting session with a chance to make purchases afterwards the fee is – £70.
Coach parties are also welcome, and we host a full day including tasting and a Welsh three course lunch for £28pp. Free lunch for the Driver.
